Motley this week is unusually and exceed" ingly good. The cartoon—" a distinguished emigrant taking farewell of his uncle," depicts a well known little incident in civic history ; and, " Commodore Lusk's Squadron Engaged," is an admirable hit off to tho event of the week. All the other skits and sketches are in keeping, and our funny contemporary has quite eclipsed himself.
The meeting of trustees of the Karangahapo District for the hearing of objections to the assessment list for 1870 is adjourned until Monday next.
