B? the barque Duke of Edinburgh, we have received Newcastle papers to the 3rd instant, from which we take the following : — Sydney, December 2.
The fire at the Australasian Steam Navigation Company's works has proved very ciestructive, a number of valuable things being burnt. . . Henry Keddall has been sent to the Asylum. The new tariff is still under discussion. The Hoods have not yet subside i. Two boys have been found drowued in the river at Kempsey, others are missing. The damage to prop.rty is enormous. A barque is iv ported to be on shore at Richmond river, supposed to be the Mariposa.
