FATAL ACCIDENT AT RUSSELL.
On Saturday morning last, during the stay of the s.s. Auckland at the Bay of Islands, the boatswain of that veaeel, Edward Halcrowe, met with a serious accident which prevented him from proceeding on to iSytney with the vessel. The poor fellow gradually sunk, and at half-past 3 o'clock on Sunday mori ing died. At 5 p.m. the same day he was buried, his funeral being numerously attended by the inhabitants. JDeceased, we understand, was an old servant of the Company, and wan much respected by the officers jin<l men of the ship.
