POLICE COURT.—SATURDAY.
(Before J. M. Dargaville, Esq., J.P.) Drunkenness. —Michael Coglan and E. Miller were each fined ss. and costs, or to be imprisoned 24 hours.—Mary Walton and John Tackbury, for third offences, were fineds 20s. and costs each, ami to ■be imprigoned seven days, and for being habitual drunkards, were both sent to Mouut Eden for three months additional. Municipal Police 4ct. —Joseph Itobert pleaded guilty to having used obscene language in a public place, and was fined 40s. and costs, or to be imprisoned for seven days. A sSAtri/r. —John Russell appeared to answer a charge of assault on Annie Speechly, bufc being too ill from accident to his eye, the ease was adjourned till 22nd November. —Mr. MeG-reggor for the defence. —Bail allowed iv defendant's own recognizances for £25.
