THE COLONIAL TREASURER.
We learn that the Hon. Mr. Yog el proceeds to-morrow to the Thames, on official business, when, as we understand, the residents intend to bring before him various disabilities under which the poeple on the goldfields suffer. Mr. Vogel will, of course, return in time for the meeting of electors which is called for Tuesday evening next. Although the absence of opposition-to -his-candiuature will remove much of the interest otherwise attaching to the Treasurer's meeting with the City East constituency, we have no doubt that his review of the past and sketches of the future, and the glimpses to be afforded of the general Ministerial policy, will draw a crowded and an animated meeting to the hall of the Mechanics' Institute on that occasion.
