CANDIDATURE OF MR. GILLIES.

There was a very large meeting of the supporters of tfie candidature of his Honor the Superintendent for the representation of City West held last night. We are glad to see that a systematic organisation and canvass have been instituted, and that a and all the other auxiliaries of^good electioneering, have been set in full blast. We trust 'that the supporters of Mr. Gillies' candidature will not rely on .the rumors of the retirement of the Opposition, but work so faithfully and well as to make it a matter of indifference whether the Superintendent is opposed, or has a "walk over."
