There is great excitement and anxiety for news from Europe by the San Francisco mail. The Shotovcr lodged 18G ozs. from the amalgam taken off the plates at Partington's machine. The deposit is now 460 ozs. from the plates alone. * There is a quantity of amalgam in baud. A third leader has been opened in the Yale of Avoca Company's ground, Pnnga Flat, aud four tons of stouetaken from it has yielded four ounces.
