AUCKLAND ETHIOPIAN TROUPE.
This evening .the above troupe will make its first appeal to the public in aid of its own funds,- which, we have no doubt, are at a pretty low ebb, in consequence of the number of gratuitous performances which it has given since its formation, now about two months ago. We understand" that the result of the last performance in aid of the Orphan's Home was £20, and the performance of this evening is to raise a fund for the purchase of music, instruments, &c, in order that the forthcoming season may be vigorously entered upon. Among those who have given their patronage —and who have also signified their intention of being present —are his Excellency the Governor, Lady Bovven, His Honor the Superintendent, the Colonial Treasurer, the officers of H.M.S. Blanche, and the committees of the Orphan Home, Parnell, and the Mechanics' Institute, Auckland. Wo trust that the house will be crowded in every pait.
