TWO MEN SEVERELY INJURED.
■A^Alirpuii mine accident occurred ghortly be« fore twelve o'clock on Tuesday night, on the ground of the Comet No 1 claim. It appear" that two of tho men named Williams and Brownlee were working at a blast going into, the Earl of Ulster ground, and in tho act of tamping the blast when the powder exploded, in the face of the two mou in question, who! were blown some considerable .distunce, and when discovered by their mates shortly afterwards, were found to be very seriously injured, and one of them unable, to speak. Tho injury to the faces and hands of tho men were such as to render their immediate removal to the hospital necessary, whero one of the sufferers still remaim in an unconscious condition. ; Both mm arc expected to loso their; ieyeiight.
