THE AUCKLAND CONSOLIDATED GOLD MINING COMPANY.
A T.A-.GH.LY attended meeting of the shareholders of the above company was held at 8 o'clock last evening, at the Star Hotel, Albertstreet, Mr. John King in the chair. After a long discussion, a resolution was proposed by Captain Casey, " That the Auckland Consolidated Gold Mining Company be voluntarily wound up." During the discussion which took place on the resolution, the secretary, Mr. H. H. Lusk, explained that shareholders holding fully 700 shares in .the original Auckland Gold Mining Company had failed to take up shares in the Auckland Consolidated Gold Mining Company, or to pay their calls, which materially interfered with the carrying on of the works. The debts of the company were stated to be about _5700, half of —>_i«=_^—cic A-ao as calls. The resolution was ultimately agreed to. Messrs. King and Warren and the Secretary were appointed liquidators of the company. A meeting of shareholders present afterwards took place, to consider the desirability of forming a new company ; and a committee was appointed to make arrangements for the purchase of the plant and material of the Auckland Consolidated Gold Mining Company. A resolution was afterwards adopted, fallow ing the shareholders fourteen days to join the new company, such shareholders to consist of those who have paid up calls* A subsequent resolution was afterwards adopted, "That the shareholders present should pay 2s. 6d. per share call to meet pressing liabilities of the Auckland Gold Mining Company." It was resolved that the projected company should be formed under the Joint Stock Company Act. It was nearly midnight before the meeting separated.
