To the Editor
Sjr,— I see in your I ist Tuesday's paper a letter signed '■ Fair Play," in which the writer seems in gieat trouble at the way in which certain works are being carried out on the carriage drive, and calling the Road Board's attention to the same. I think if the writer Imd any " far play " about him he would wait until the contract is done before he has anything to say about it. I have had <i few contracts from the Board here, and have always completed them to their siti.sfnotion and the ratepayers in general, excepting, perhaps, " Fair play," but there is very often a meddling ''Fair Play" in these small places who looks after other people's business instead of minding his own, which would become him much better. With regard to sub-letting or employing others to do the work, I take it that is my business, so long as I see that my contract is done in a proper manner, which "Fair Play "may rest assured will be done, and that to the satisfaction of whoever the Board may appoint to pass the same.— Yours, etc., BENDT JORGENSON. Contractor. Le Bon's Bay, Nov. 12, 1882.
