SALE OF STUD SHEEP

A very important sale ■of stock look place on Friday .■morning at the New Zea - land Wool Stores, Hereford street, when Messrs R. Wilkin and Co. submitted to puolic auction ajargs number of pure-bred merino cheep From theJiocks of Mr Joseph Pearson, of Burnt Hill, .Oxford ; Messrs W. Gibson and Son, of Spone, Tasmania ; Mr J. Gibson, of Belle Vue, .Tasmania ; and Mr J. D Toosey, of Cressy,'Tasmania. The sale excited a large amount of interest, as the quality of tb« Tasmanian is well-known and appreciated here, and Mr Pearson has also, acquired considerable renown as a breeder. In addition to the sheep, a number of pure-bred Yorkshire pigs were put up on account of Mr E. Mitchell, of Horseshoe Lake. . The result of the sale was as follows :—
