AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.
Measis H. Matson and Co. repoton the Live Stock Maiket, &c, for the w-ek ending Friday, July 14th, 1882, as follows:—For Wednesday's Adding-'on sale a full supply of mut:on again came to hand, the quality being of a mixed description. Both in cossbreds and merinos the-'e were some remarkably f.ood sheep penned. Messrs Kruse, C!a-*kson, Giigg, L. White, F. Wright, and Henderson'and Mcßeath being amongst the chief contributors. Although the sa'e flagged generally, yet the best sheep held their own in p r ico to the comparitive neglect of light weights and inferior quality lines. Several lots of sheep were passed at the opening sales, but with one or two exceptions they wee placed during the day. In stores,"the demand is well maintained, young sheep of all descriptions finding ready buyers at full values. Good 2 and 4 tooth crosshred ewes in lamb may be quoted at from 9s to lis; mixed sheep of the same age for turnip feeding at equal rates; fresh conditioned merino wethers, 7s 6*l to 8s 6d according to ages. In fat cattle both the quantity and quality was below _ the average, trade in consequence being far from brisk, still anything like decent weight cattfe sold'at prices equal to last week's quotations, and of our entries very few Jots were unsold. In stores.there was but a limited entry, and for all classes of young cattle a better inquiry exists, which will no doubt improve with tbe nearer approach of spring. The totals yarded for the day comprised 6390 sheep, SO7 bead of cattle, and 105 pigs.
