Messrs 11. Matsoti and Co. report on the Live Stock Market, &c. for the week ending Thursday, June 15th, 1882, as follows :■—At yesterday's sale tliei'e wiis & I'iili supply of stock (storo cattle exempted), though in sheep we have had several hoavior markets during tha past month. Of inuttow, however, there was evidently moro than was wanted, several lots of fat nheep btfing turned out unsold, whilst prices, both thw; end laef* week, were marked by a weakening trade. Licbt weight and inferior quality cheep en tier most in value, really prime wethers yesterday selling up to lGs ; mixed lines of medium weigtit shoep, Vda to 14s. Jn Bton-s there wuru nr.t lumiy <"' olter, the deinuid being perliapa a little quieter. We can only account lor the slightdeprus aion in the tradn by the fact that the late Bftvere .i-tathcr limh destroyed a lot o turnios and other feed, and as a conse quenoe the markets have been overdono
with cheep. The sale of fat cattle lepresentod a specially large entiy, tho bulk of which were of the inferior elasn, though several lines (not.nbly Messi3 Chapman Brothers' cattle) were cqiml to anything w« have hn<\ in the ma-ket for several moulds. For the last-mentioned line preen rii'e.cl as bisjh as £11 10s, but generally sneaking ibe'e waa considerable apathy on the part of buyers, and biddings came slowly. For anything really pi'irie there was plenty of demand at values much b'gher in comparison than for inferior cattle. In stores there Wis not sufficient doing to caU for remark, and late ruling prices rama ; n unaltered. Ihe totals yatded for the day co'mpnsed 6169 sheep.
