Christchurch, May 8. The Crown prosecutor at New Plymouth applied to enter a nolle prosequi in the case of Titokowaru and liangi, charged under the West Coast Settlement Act. Judgment was reserved.
The Auckland fish canning works were opened on Saturday at Klpara. The company has a plant capable of canning 3000 pound tins of mullet per day.

With reference to his recent visit to Mokau. Wahanui says he has established a good understanding with Te Wetere, who is expected here to-day. Though a large claimant to land, it is doubtful whether Wfihanui will attend the Court. Several Natives from inland have swelled the number present to probably 1600 at the Native meeting. Tawhia came into Alexandra this morning for breakfast at the hotel,
