WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.

" Messrs H. »Matson and Co. report :—on Tliuraday, at our Canterbury Wool Stores, we held oui usual weekly sale of tho above. There was a limited attendance of thu trade, and owing, no doubt, to the discouraging reports from England, the prices realised Avere not so satisfactory as of late, a considerable decline being established. Our catalogue consisted of 2513 bheepskins, il9 bags rough fat and 56 hide-, about 20 bales, and several bags wool, and several bage and packages tallow, all of which were sold at prices as follows, viz:—Butchers' best cross-bred pelts made 2a 7d to 3s Id each ; second quality, la 10d to 2s Gd each ; milium, Is to Is 9d each ; best merino pelts, is Gd to Is 10d each ; second quality, Is 2d to Is 5d each ; medium, lUd to Is Id each ; inferior and badly saved pelts, cross-bred, and merino, 2d to 8d each ; best lambskins made Is 9d to 2s 10d each ; second quality, Is 4d to Is 8d each ; butchers' best rough fat made 2£d to per Ib ; second quality, lsd to 2d per lb ; inferior, l£d to l|d per lb ; salted hides, 4d per lb ; damaged hides, 2£d ; calfskins. 4d ; tallow, lfd to 2£d per lb ; wool in bales and bnga, cross-bred, Gd to per lb ; do merino, Gd to B£d per lb ; pieces, 3d to s|d per lb ; locks, £d to 3£d per lb.
