STOCK REPORT.
There was a fair attendance of the trade at the Addington Yards on Wednesday last, when 5609 sheep, 412 cattle, and 68 pigs coDStitutcd the supply for the day. Bidding generally was brisk at the opening of the sale, but afterwards iell off a little.
Sheep.—Good and prime quality fat cheep were in small supply aa compared with previous sales, and the bidding was accordingly better. Prime cross-breds in the wool realised 16s; good do, ]4s to 15s; shorn crossbreds, prime, 12s 3d ; good do, 10s 6d to 11s 3d ; medium, 9s. We quote mutton 3d pei lb in the wool, ehorn, 2d. No merinos worth quoting were offered. Lambs sold up lo 8s Gd. Mixed shorn stores sold for 6s Cd ; crossbred ewes in the weol, with lambs at foot, realised 12s 6d ; merino, do, 9s 9d.
Cattle.—There was a large supply of good and prime beef, no inferior being offered. Bidding was, nevertheless, dull throughout, and prices accordingly declined. We quote the average for beef at 18s 6d per 1001b. Stores were in small supply, and were sold at slightly advanced rates. Milch cowe were cleared out at up to £7 15s.
Pigs.—There was ft small supply of good quality pigs, which sold up to £1 17s.
