WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.
Messrs 11. Matstfn and Co. report—On Thursday, at our Canterbury Wool Stores, we held our weekly sale of the above. The- attendance of fellmotigers was small owing no doLiht to our wool sale having been held on Tuesday, and the prices realised showed a somewhat downward tendency. Our catalogue for the day consisted of 2190 sheepskins, 94 bags rough jf/tt, 81 hides, sereral casks and packc.ges LuHow, and a few odd lota of wool, the whole of which were disposed of at the following quotations, viz. :—Butchers' bes-t eross-breds made 6s to 6f> 7d each ; piicond quality, 5s to 5a lid ; 'medium, 3a 9c ! to 4e lid each ; butchers' best merinos m-',.'•- 6c3 to 6a Gd each ; second quality, 5.- i-r lid each ; medium, 4s to 4s lid naj'.j ; be.it pelt« made Is to Is Id each, other- from 5d to lid each ; lambskins marie Is to Is 7d each ; butchers' best far, 2£d to 2,{d per lb; second qiiHihy, If v to 2d per lb ; inferior, lsd to l|d ;v lb ; hides, 3£d per lb ; damaged, hide .2|d ; calfskins, 4d per lb ; tallow mud, nun 14b to 21s Gd per cwt, as per de.vj iptitJii.
