Several New Zealand residents now in Melbourne intend holding a banquet at an early date.
A meeting of GOOO persons held last night adopted a petition to the Governor for the reprieve of Ned Ivclly. Mr Gnunson the promoter of the agitation presented the petition to-day. The proposed procession to Government House was abandoned. Numerous other petitions to the Executive Council ore being sighed for the reprieve of Kelly/ .

District Court Judge Meymott, whose conduct recently formed the subject of a Commission of Enquiry, has been superseded by tho Government on the following grounds :—Habitual discour-' tesy to legal practitioners, and interference with juries, also subordinating the interests of justice to his personal convenience. Brisbane, Nov. 6. In tho Legislative Council, last night, a clause of the Railway Companies Bill which would have restricted the rnent of Chinese, was rejected.
