There was an average uueiiuiiiivu «t mt Addington Yards on Wednesday last and the bidding was brisk throughout, mainly owing to the souiewh.it small supply of most lines of stock. The numbers yarded were—elieep. 3518 ; cattle, 344; pigs, 58. Sheep.—The sheep offereil comprised a larger proportion than usual of fat shorn cross-breds. Extra piime quality lots of these realised 13s Gd ; good do and prime, from 10.s 6d to Its 3d. Cross-breds in their wool sold at 17s Gd for prime lots, and 14s Gd to 15s 9d for good do. There wero no fat merinos worth quoting. •Stores were in good demand, but comparatively speaking none wero offered. Lambs of prime quality sold at from lls «d, others from Gs Gd to 10s. Cattle.—There was only ft small entry of good beef cattle, and competition wan accordingly keen. Wo quote prime • quality at 23s per 100 lb; second quality, 21s Gd. There was a slightly improve;] > enquiry for stores, and prices accordingly i ranged higher than last week. Best threr year-olds brought £G 7s Gd ; two-year olds, £4 ICM; yearlings, £3 2s ; and well ,#rown calves, eight and nine months old \£2 Oβ.
Piy> were cleared at prices ranging up to £3.
