WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.

Messrs H. Matson and Co. repoit.—On lhursday at our Canterbury Woo! Stores we,held our usual weekly sale of the above. 'Fellmongers mustered in fair numbers, and ia sheepskins the values were very isimilar to those of last week, whilst the prices obtained for fat and hides were ■•o-%* slightly easier. Our catalogue consisted of 2445 sheepskins, 141 bags of rough fat, 89 hides, a few bales and bags of wool, and bags and packages of tallow, the whole of which were disposed of as follows, viz.;— Butchers' best cross treds -mado 6a 3d to 7s, and one line of 37 extra heavy sheepskins made 8s 9d each ; second quality, 5s to 6s 2d ; medium, 3s 64 to 4k lid each; butchers'best merinos, 5s Gd to 6s Id each ; second quality. 4s 6 1 to 5s 5d ; medium. 3s to 4s 5d each. Country skins made, for best, 4s to 6s 7d each ; others from Is to 3s 9d each ; lambskins. lOd each ; butchers' best rough fat, 2.{d to 2|d per lb ; second quality, 2d to 2 : jd per lb ; inferior, If 1 per lb ; calfskins, 4|d per lb ; tallow in bags and packages, to 24/1 per lb ; tallow in ca&ks, none on offer. Wool in bales—merino to 9.jd per lb : do cross-hreds, to 9;|d per lb ; pieces, to .per lb ; locks, to 2§d per lb.
