CORN EXCHANGE REPORT.
The following is from the report for the week ending Friday evening, Uct. 1:—
Grass Seed.—A few sales have taken place during the vcek. Good, heavy well dressed parcels are worth 2s 9-1 to 3s per bushel. Light and badly dressed Is 94 to 2s Gd per bushel. Cocksfoot, 2|d to 3d per Lb. Potatoes. —Tho maiket has in no .vnj* improved during tho past, week. There are undoubtedly considerable quantities yet on hand, while the demand has not increased. Prices, however, have reached their lowest level, as farmers will not move them unless sui'iicient is given by the shipper to pay labor, etc. At country etalions, within a radius of 7 or 8 miles, 15s to 20s per ton U asked :.r;d givon ; sacks extra.
Cheese and Butter.—The former is in good supply at from id to 4.',-d lb. The latter is moving at 7:jd to Hd per lb. Old keg butter is unsaleable. 1 [;ty._sijj to 55s per ton, delivered in town.
