STOCK REPORT.

The weekly sale at the Yard* on Wednesday last attracted a large number of buyers and others interested in stockmatters, but business generally was quieter than at the previous sale. The stock yarde.l comprised 4284 sheep, 501 cattle, an*} 133 pigs.

Sheep.—There was a good proportion of prime quality fat phe*>p among the lots offered, but bidding wu Ume'throughout. The best cross-hreds realised 10s 9d ; good do, 15s Gd. Merinos, of prime quality, hold up to lis ; good do, lis Gd to 12s ; medium quality. 10s; shorn cross-hreds realised 10s. We quote mutton, shorn, at IJ-d to l;f 1, and unshorn at 2f I. Stores ware in small supply, with an active demand. Inferior ewes, with small percentage of lambs, sold at 10s ; hoggets at .from 9s 9d to lis Gd.

Cattle.—The quality of tho fat cattle offered was exceedingly good, yet a drop of about 2s Gd per 1001b was experienced as-co npared with last week. We quote beef at 20s per 1001b for prime heavy weights, light weights of prime quality a shade higher. Several exceedingly good lines of stores wero offered, and, considering the price of beef, they no/ed off well. Good thriving three-year-olds realised £5 12s 6d ; two-year-olds, £4 to £4 15s, and yearlings £2 12s Od. Pigs sold at various prices up to £3.
