GRAIN AND PRODUCE.

The business of the week has not been \>f mi important character. The market .ontinues quiet,* and little beyond the tilling Of sundry order- can be reported. Since our last notice we have been favored with another fall of rain, which will be of great service at the moment.

Wheat is without alteration, and best quality fetches 4s Id to 4s 2d. Average lots realise 3s 10d to 4s. Transactions, however, have been of a trilling kind.

Oats.—The value of first-class milling samples has in no way .altered ; quotations remain at Is 7d to Is 8d for this description. Buyers, however, mhintdii the same attitude, and are not over eager to purchase. Parcels of feed quality command Is 4d to Is 5d for best lines, but the demand is not over brisk. Inferior grades aro quoted at Is Id to Is 3d.

Barley.—Fair malting has changed hands at 2s Gd to 2s 9J, and a few lots of feed quality at Is Od to Is 9.1. Potatoes remain comparatively unsaleable. Quotations are hard to give in the present state of the market, and growers are soiling at the best prices obtainable.

Flour.—A fair business in flour is reported by the mi Hera at £10 10s to £11 according to brand and size of parcel.

Grass Seed.—The season being so far advanced, business in grass is becoming more rj:tricted, and buyers to hold ore more cautious in selecting. Good fanners' peed, free from dirt, is worth 2s 4d to 2h 7d ; inferior kinds, 2s.

Dairy Produce.—Butter and cheese are unchanged.
