It is feared that the demands of Montenegro, that the Powers should take some steps of coercion towards Turkey beyond the naval demonstration will jeopardise the latter being carried out, T jn its entirety. England and Russia are willing to carry out the display, but it is doubtful if the other Powers will consent-to act in concert. The, cricket match, Australians v. Players was resumed this morning. Spofforth, who was absent on Monday and Tuesday, to-day went to the wickets in place of Bannerman, and was caught out when he had put together 21 runs. Play is now proceeding. Later. The Australi ms hare won the match against the Players of England by two wickets. The bowling of the Home team was dead on the wicket, and eight Australians were disposed of before the required, number of. runs (iO) was ob-t tamed. The weather to-day was.fine. Constantinople, Sept. 29. Reinforcements of troops are being sent to Biza Pasha, the Turkish commander at IMcigno, in view, of possible hostilities with ihe Montenegrins.

It lias been announced that the .French Government has instructed the, r cpqiinander of the French vessels to abstain from taking part with the squadron iri any act of coercion towards Turkey.

In the Australians' < innings M'Donnell was caught after making 28. The Players in their second innings,,only scored 82, all out. Palmer , and Boyle again bowled 'veil, the former taking six and the latter three wickets. The Aust.aliansrequiring 40 runs to win the match, then went in for their second innings, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had put together, ,10
runs for the loss of three wickets. There was a thick hnze over the ground all day, which seriously interfered with the play.
Constantinople, Sept. 28.
Intelligence has been received that the Montenegrins have asked the aid of the Great Powers to enable them to obtain possession of Dulcigno. They solicit the Powers to take some steps beyond coercion by means of the fleet; and the Admirals in command of the vessels forming the squadron have referred to their respective Governments for definite instructions.
The Porte has asked Montenegro to delay the steps it proposed to take to obtain possession of Dulcigno, as the Turkish Government are not ready to enforce the cession.
Riza Pasha, the Turkish commander, has notified the Montenegrins that if the troops cross the frontier into Albania, the step will be a deemed a casus belli.
