STOCK REPORT.

The weekly sale at Addhgton on Wednesday was largely attended, and there was a full supply of stock, sheep being unusually numerous. The bidding throughout the day was, however, well sustained, and all lots were sold at satisfactory rates. Sheep.—Owing to the large entry of sheep, competition was not quite so keen as at the previous sale, and prices were somewhat irregular, but all the lots were quitted a little if anything under previous quotations. The top price obtained for cross-breds was I7s 6d, and the lowest 14s. Prime merinos sold at 14s, which we believe is the highest price obtained this season. We quote mutton at 3d pei lb. Stores are largely enquired for, in proof of which: it. may be said that a line of crossbred lnmbing-down ewes sold at 15s. ~ Cattle,—Consequent npon the market being very fully supplied, beef dropped from 2s to 3s per 1001b though it must be remembered that the price which was obtained last week was exceptionally high. We quote beef at 24s to 27s 6d per 1001b. Stores, although more numerous than usual, sold readily at improved rates. Two to three year old, fresh> conditioned, mixed lots, realised from £5 to £5 10s, and extra good lines of steers £6 ; 18 months old, £3 to £3 10s; wcaners, 35s to 45h.

Pigs display very little alteration, the prices being 15 per cent lower than they were six months ago.
