WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.
Messrs H. Mfttsbn and Co. report:— On Thursday at our Canterbury wool stores we held our usual weekly sale of the above. There was a fair attendance of the Irade, and prices ruled considerably higher than those of last week. Our catalogue consisted of 2203' sheepskins, 124 bags rough fat, 72 hides, 14- bales and several bags wool, and several tins and packages tallow, the whole of which were disposed of at the undermentioned quotations, viz.:—Butchers' best cro«s-bred skins, 5s 6d to 6s 3d ; second quality, 4s to 5s 4d each ; medium, 2s 4d to 3s lid each; butchers' best merinos, 4s to 4s lid ; second quality, 3s to 3s lid each ; medium, Is lid to 2s lid ; dry and country skins made for hest 5s to 6a 2d each, others, 3d, 6d. la, 2s, 3s, 4s to 4s lid each, as per description.. Butchers' best rough fat 2£d to 2fd per lb; second quality, 2d to 2£d per lb ; inferior, none on offer. Hides, 3|d per lb ;'• damaged, do, 2Jd per lb; calfskins, per lb. Tallow, 2£d to 2fd per lb. Wool, greasy, to 7d ; washed, passed at llfd ; locks, 3d to 3|d ; pieces, 3d to sd.
