STOCK REPORT.
There was a good attendance , at the Addington yards on Wednesday laat and the bidding for well-conditioned butchere' sheep was spirited, but for other lines of stock it was dull. Sheep.—A large proportion of the mutton was superior to any yarded for some time past, and the supply being rather limited, there was a marked rise in the value of sheep. Best quality mutton made equal to 2d per lb. Lambs and stores were in very short supply, an,d are not worth quoting. Cattle. —Beef was in over supply and only of medium quality, for which there was but little competitor Best quality made equal to 20s per lOQIb; medium, 17d 6d. Very few stores were brought forward, and they were not in great demand. Pigs.—There were some ;good lines of bacon pi«s, the bulk of which were taken up by Dunedin buyers at from 4£d to 5d per lb.
