WOOL SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.
Messrs H. Mntson and Co. report: —On Thmsday, at the Canterbury Wool Stores, we held our usual weekly sale of the above, ■cataloguing 3355 sheepskins, 200 bags and packages of rough fat and tallow, •and 9004 hides. In best crose-bred skins prices were about 3d per skin better than last week. Other classes remain un- : changed. The fat and tallow market was again a triilo firmer, most of .the lots being placed at 2§d per lb, none below 2d. The demand for ox-hides is still quiet, and those sent to hand can only be placed at' B|d to 3£d per lb; calfskins nt 3d. Full wooUed country cross-bred skins brought to 6s Bd, and merinos 5s 8(1. Best butchers' cross-breda brought 4s 3d, 4a Gd ( to 4s 9d ; second quality, 3s 4d, 3s Bel to 4h ; medium, 2a, 2s 3d, 2s 6d, 2s 9d to 3s. Best merinos, 2s 3il, 2s sd, to 2s 7d ; second quality, Is4d, Is Gd, Is 9d to 2s 2d. Host rough fat, dry, well saved. 2£d to 2fd ; second quality, 2d fa 2£d per lb. Jiidc3. over 601b. 3£d ; under 601b, ?>\ per ibr, cnlt - nkiriß, 3d per There was a good attendance, and alllwo were sold.
