INTERPROVINCIAL TELEGRAMS.

(FROM THE LYTTELTON TIMES.)

Auckland, April 7.

A party of Thames visitors to Sir G. Grey reached Kawau by the steamer Blanche yesterday afternoon, and wer met by Sir G. Grey and Mr Seymour George and heartily welcomed. Sir G. Grey is in excellent health and walked for miles over the inland, pointing out places of interest, onct calling attention to the rare plants and flop-era, many seeds of which and _slants were given to the visitors ; also, Parliamentary books, for Thames Public Library. Sir G. Grey stated that it is his intention to leave in a few weeks for Canterbury and Invercargill, having received numerous invitations to address the electors of the Southern constituencies., The party remained all night passing a very pleasant evening in his library, where the old books and manuscripts were shown them. At an early hour a tour of the Island was made ; the old copper mine was visited, and loads of quartz and manganese, lately discovered by Mr Seymour George were pointed out. Mr Phillips, Manager of the Manganese Works at Bay of Islands, arrived last night for the purpose of reporting on the lodes. The Blanche, with the party, left at noon for the Thames calling at Waiwera
