STOCK AND STATIONS.
At the Addington yards on Wednesday, 4125 sheep, 831 head of cattle, and 35 -oigs were yarded. Sheep.—There was a large attendance of tli3 butchering trade at the sheep sale, and in consequence of a short supply of good quality sheep there was a further rise in prices. Best quality shorn sheep realised lis 6d each ; good ditto, from 9s 6d to 10s 6deach. We quote 2d per lb as an average for shorn sheep. Fat Lambs—An over supply came forward. The bidding was dull throughout. Prime lots sold at from 6s to 8s; inferior ditto, 3s 9d. Cattle.—-The usual large supply of fat cattle came to hand * very prime quality beef made an average of barely 25s per lOOlbs ; medium ditto, 22s 9d : andinferior, 21s. Stores. —About 600 head -of store ■cattle were penned, but on account of the scarcity of buyers there was a dull sale, and in consequence the bulk was passed in unsold.
