STOCK AND STATIONS.
At the Addington yards on Wednesday, 5015 sheep, 257 head of cattle, and 368 nigs were yarded. * Sheep.—The bulk of the sheep consisted of from good to.prime quality cross-breds. Best quality realised from 16s to 16s 6d each; good dc, from 12s 6d to 13s 9d ; fair quality and light weights, from 9s 6d to lis. A few pens of merinos changed hands at from 7s to 7s 6d each. We quote 2|d per lb as an average for fat sheep. "Cattle.—There was an unusually large supply of fat cattle owing to their being a lot imported from Wanganui, which sold as high as £15. There were also some prime quality lots brought forward by local graziers, for which lots the biddings were keen, 6ome of the pens making close upon last week's rates. We quote 32s 6d per 1001b as an average for fat cattle. Pigs.—The bulk of the pigs also consisted of a shipment from Wanganui, the bulk of which were in low condition ; best lots realised 35a each.
