STOCK AND STATIONS.

During the' past week the moist weather and mild temperature have had a most beneficial effect on the pastures, and the growth of grass, considering the time of year, is far more than could have been expected. There is a want of suitable lines of sheep for turnip feeding, and not being obtainable, there are a good many offers of turnips to let which are worthy of attention. At Addington on Wednesday 3296 sheep and lambs, 188 cattle, 80 pigs, were yarded for the week. Fat Sheep.—ln consequence of the short supply brought forward there was a brisk demand for good quality at an advance of Is to Is 6(1 per head, best butchers' mutton, making equal to 2dperlb, medium l£d to lfd. Fat Beef. — The quality brought forward was not equal to that usually yarded, there being a great scarcity of anything like prime. There was but little competition for the cattle offered, and no improvement in prices, except in one or two instances. Best quality, 25s ; medium 21s to 235. Pigs are in brisk demand at from 3|d to 4d, according to quality. Store Cattle are still without improvement, and no demand. Sales are only effected at extremely reduced prices, with but few offering.
