Messrs H. Matson and Co. report:— Wool and Skin Report.—On Thursday at our Canterbury Wool Stores we held our usual weekly sale of sheepskins, hides, fat, and tallow, when 2294 sheepskins, 87 hides, 92 bags rough fat, and a few packages of tallow, comprised the entry for the day's sale. There was an average attendance of purchasers, and although no rise in price was perceptible, still prices were firm and even throughout. Best cross-breds brought 3s, 3s 3d, 3s 6d, 3s 9d, to 3s lid ; medium, 2s, 2s 4d, 2s Bd, to 23 lid ; inferior, sd, 9d, Is, to la 4d ; best merinos brought 3s to 3s 9d ; medium, Is, Is 3d, Is 6d, to Is lOd ; inferior, 3d to lOd. Hides, salted, 3£d per lb. Damaged hides and calfskins, unsold. Best dry rough fat, l|d to Ifd ; medium, Id, l£d, to l£d ; inferior and heated, £d to fd ; tallow, to 19s per cwt.
