STOCK AND STATIONS.
Since our last report, we have had a continuation of mild showery weather, which has had the effect of making the grass spring, and though the growth may not have much substance with it, still it is most welcome. At Addington on Wednesday, 3281 sheep and lambs, 169 cattle, and 6 pigs were yarded for the week. Fat Sheep.—Though not a very Targe number were brought forward, the demand was less brisk than last week and the trade showed no disposition to operate outside of bare requirements, consequently we cannot report any improvement in prices, which must remain at.about last week's quotations. Best butchers' quality, l|d ; inferior, Id to l£d. Beef was again in over supply, though the quality, with the exception of one or two lines, was below the average. The demand being v/eak, some of the best cattle were passed in unsold, the bidding not coming up to owners' valuation. Best quality light-weight made equal to 24s ; medium and outside heavy-weights, 19s to 21s. Store Sheep.—No demand, except for forward lines for turnips. Store Cattle.—No improvement.
