CORN EXCHANGE REPORT.
The following is the report of the Corn Exchange for the week ending Friday evening, May 9 :— Transactions in all kindsof grain during the week have been of a very limited character. "Wheat. —Good milling samples are worth 3s 4d to 3s 5d ; inferior to second rate, 2s 10d to Sa. Oats.—First-class milling oats can only be quoted at from 2s 8d to 2s 9d ; feed samples, 2s 5d to 2s 7d. Barley.—As stated in last week's report, first-class malting quality will still command 6s, but inferior samples are dull of sale, and range from 3s 6d to ss. Potatoes.—A Jimited business at £3 to £3 5s has been jdone during the week. The market is unsettled, but has an upward tendency. Grass Seed.—No business doing ; prices nominal. Cheese and Butter.—Sales of the former have been made during the week. For iirst-class quality at frkl; ordinary qualities, s f-d to 6d. For the latter, 10d to lid per lb.
