STOCK AND STATIONS.
The past week has been one of intense heat, favouring farmers in their threshing operations, as they have been able to carry direct from the stooks to the threshing machines, thus saving the labor of stacking first. Boot crops will have suffered to some extent, as they are generally greatly in want of rain. - - —,Fat Aeep at Addington, on Wednesday, excess of trade requirements, and the whole market was characterised by extreme dulness and fluctuating prices. Some lines passed out unsold; others which had been twice and three times yarded were quitted at reduced prices. Prime butchers' mutton made aboat 2d ; inferior downward. Fat Lambs.—An over supply, and much neglected by the trade, the seaeon being too far advanced. Fat Beef.—A very large supply, was brought forward, and many of very superior quality. Competition was spiritless, with a slight decline on last week's prices. Best quality summer beef, 24s to 25s ; inferior 20s to 22s 6d. Store Cattle.—A large number brought forward, for which there was but little de"laiid and could only be quitted at reduced prices, many lines passed out unsold. Store sheep still difficult to quit. Want of rain and short pasture operating against business in this description of stock.
