GERMAN BAY.

The annual meeting of householders of this district was held on Monday evening:, last in the schoolroom. There was a fair attendance. .'•,,,?

The Chairman, Mr Dawber, read the following report:— "Our schoolmaster, Mr Gates,'left in July last, and after repeated advertisements Mr Angus, who conducted the side school, was appointed to the main school.

The attendance at the main school is increasing, and we: trust that the average will soon be such as to entitle us to assistance in teaching,power. v A piece of land has been provided on which to erect a new side school, the present temporary building being found quite inadequate to the requirements of the district.

"The present 1 number pn the;roll. of the main school is 35."

The meeting then proceeded to the election of a Committee for?the ensuing year, when the following were elected :—Messrs Robert Dawber, Edwin Ghappell, William Curry, John Hammond, George Odell, Edward Harrington, Albert Phillips. At a meeting of the new Committee held afterwards, Mr Dawber was re appointed chairman.

Mr Jaquet was appointed: to the side school, subject to approval of the Board of Education, and it was resolved that the Board of Education be asked to get the land for the side school surveyed as soon as possible. : 5 .: • ■
