STOCK AND STATIONS.
During the week there have been some -of the severest frosts that have been -ex-; perienced for years past, which have had an injurious effect on both the stock and farming pursuits. At Addington on Wednesday 5217 sheep, 197 head of cattle, and 75 pigs -were yarded for the week. Fat Sheep.—A large portion of superior quality were brought forward for which there was a brisk competition, and the rise in values last week was well maintained.
Beef.—An over-supply of indifferent .quality was yarded for which the trade did not care to compete, consequently several lots were passed unsold ; best quality made equal to about 27s 6d. per lOOlbs. In Stores there was a slight improvement, but the demand is extremely limited.
