The funeral of the late Mr J. Hemmingway, whose death is announced in another column, took place yesterday, ,a great many friends together with the brethern of the Masonic Lodge, Akaroa, of which body the deceased was a ;member, accompanying the funeral cortege to the grave. The Service was read by the Rev P. C. Anderson, and at the conclusion of the Church of England ceremony, the Masonic service was delivered by Bro. : P. Ralfe W.M., the brethren joining chorally in the various responses. The late Mr Hemingway was. an old. resident of the Peninsula, and had lived for 'many years 'in Pigeon Bay, until bad health interfered with active work when he reinored to Akaroa
where he resided till* his death.
