Waitara, June 20. Heavy raini last- night completely flooded buildings constructed by Government for Native meeting, and great dissatisfaction is freely expressed among the Maoris. Rewi telegraphs the Government for tents for their accommodation.

"Wanganui, June 20. An accident happened to the Patea coach, coming" into town this evening, about 4.30, about five miles from town. It was growing dusk, when a swagsman started from the side of the road and frightened the horses, which plunged and swerved, and overturned the coach against the bank on the side of the road. Captain Marshall,-A.G., was violently, thrown out, and Ms shoulder dislocated, with other injuries, not dangerous. Another passenger's ribs were broken, and some scalp wounds received. Hall, the driver, behaved admirably according to testimony of passengers, and tried his best to regain command of the horses, and after accident did his best to set things straight. One horse fatally injured, others hurt. The sufferers are progressing favorably.

Christchurch, June 20.

New Yealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (limited), received following telegrams, dated London, June 18 :—Wool competition is increasing, and quotations are on an average halfpenny to a penny better than at the opening. Principal advance has been in scoured cross-bred. Former Continental demand gone. Up to date 196,000 bales have been sold. Tallow market quiet: beef, 38s 6d per cwt,; stocks of all sorts are 18,000 casks. 3000 sides of Australian leather have been sold since last report; 400 best sides, 9|d.
