STOCK AND STATIONS.
During the past week there was not any break in the long continued drought, and pastures are rapidly becoming worse, and stock consequently suffering in proportion, causing great depression in the stock market.
On Wednesday, at Addington, 9400 sheep, 291 head of cattle, and 118 pigs were yarded. Fat sheep were in large supply, and would have experienced a heavy decline but for the operations of the boilers, who took good lines, relieving the market considerably. Mutton may be quoted at from Id to per lb. Beef.—A full supply of very good quality, which met with a very fluctuating market, some good useful quality barely making 21s per lOOlbs ; but good prime, summer weights reaching "265. Store Sheep in weak demand, good lines being passed in, no one liking to venture in face of continued drought.
Store Cattle. —No enquiries, and met with dull sale.
