COMMERCIAL.
FROM THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Cliristchurch, Friday Evening. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. We have still to report a want of life in the grain market, and an almost total absence of business. Grain, however, is coming in freely, and is either being shipped or is going into store on growers' account. Potatoes.—The demand i-s not at all brisk, and prices are not so -steady. We quote 40s to 42s 6d. Flour isquoted by millers at £11 to £12, according to brand. The business done has been good. Grass Seed.—Orders have fallen off, and the value lias given away to a greater extent than last week. First-class rye is not worth more than 6s 3d; other descriptions 4s 3d to 5s 6d. Dairy Produce. —Butter is very dull, ftnd is nominilly quoted at 7d to 8d ; cheese, sd. There is little doing in hams and bacon.
