The Electric No. 1 is at present on exceedingly rich ground, last week's return being 6060z. Rumour hath it that a four-figure return is expected thi3 week. The manager is reported to have banked 300oz on Saturday morning, the result of 24 hours' work. The No. 2 is expected to strike something sensational in the near future, The Hartley is working into the bank near the roadside, but is doing poorly. Both the Junction dredges are doing poorly. The No. 2 will likely be shut down for good before Xmas. On the Clutha the Rise and Shine is on good ground, and the No. 2 is improving slowly. The Rising Sun is working well after her recent overhaul, and is on good ground. Last week's return of 560z must be very gratifying to shareholders, and should the returns continue so till the end of the year, this company will be among the dividend-paying concerns. The Revival, above the punt, is doing well for a small dredge, but the ground is very and she is not able to cope with the large boulders.
