The Fourteen-mile had to stop on S iturday morning for some necessary repairs but stirtel again on Monday. Quite a flutter of excitement was create! about 6.30, ou Friday evening last, by an unusual noise coming from the direction of the Moa dredge. In the space of a very bhor't time, the bank was lined with spectators, and it soon became apparent that the elevator buckets had become disconnected ana had fallen into the river. Mr Nicholson, the dredgemaster, was soon on the scene, and the crew worked all night at the buckets, the majority of which, we are pleased to report, were recovered. Dredging was resumed again on Monday evening.
