Athletics.
The annual sports in connection with the Bald Hill Flat and Opbir Sports Olubs will be held at the respective places to-day. As the weather gives every promise of being fine, there will doubtless be large attendances at both gatherings. The committee of'the Clyde Sports Club have decided to extend the time for receiving nominations for the Sheffield Handicap and Wheel Race till the 19th inst, the committee considering that some misunderstanding had evidently arisen amongst intending competitors as to the date of closing entries. Nominations for the 100, 220, and 440 yards handicaps, and the Half-Mile and One Mile bicycle races also close on the 19th, The following are the handicaps for the Limerick Sheffield, to be run at Bald Hill. Flat to-day:—Ryan scr, Shanahan Iyd, W Hewitt 6yds, Paterson 6yds,- D Butler Byds, W Nicholson 9yds, M'Eachen 9yds, R Wt'Neish 9yds, W Gilroy 10yds, M Murphy 111 yds.
