Dunstan Hospital.

The usual monthly meeting of the trustees was held in the secretary's office, Clyde, on Tuesday, Bth inst, at 8 p.m. Present—Messrs 0 C Hutton (chairman), T Barry, E M'Manus, H ' Edser, B Naylor, jun., W C Pitches, and J Wilson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read and rereceived from Maniototo Council and the boroughs of Naseby, Alexandra, and Cromwell re the election of members of the Board of Trustees, and from A Jopp, Esq, re R Rutherford, deceased. Resolved—That Mr Jopp be requested to hand over to the trustees the small balance of £1 5s 6d lying in his hands to the credit of deceased, and also the value (if any) of blankets, &e. The visiting committee reported everything satisfactory in the hospital, and recommended that the removal of the fence in front of the hospital building be attended to, that linoleum for the kitchen corridor be obtained, that a small lamp for the outside gate be obtained, and that the spouting of the surgeon's residence be-attended to. Resolved—That the visiting committee carry out the above recommendations. The surgeon's report as follows was read and received: Number of patients in hospital at beginning of month, 4; since admitted, 1; discharged, 2; died during the month (admitted moribund), 1; remaining at end of month, 2. The treasurer's report showing a debit balance of £1 17s 9d, with pros pective assets and liabilities of £167 and £73 respectively was read and received. Resolved- That Mr H Edsor be and is hereby appointed hon treasurer for the ensuing year. Accounts for salaries and supplies for the month of February amounting to £66 6s 7d were passed for payment. Resolved—That tenders for supplies be invited by advertisement in the 'Lexaxdka Herald of the 10th and 17th inst, and in the " Dunstan Times" of the 15th and 22nd inst, and that a meeting to consider same be neld in the secretary's office, Clyde, on Monday, the 28th inst. Resolved—That a hearty and sincere vote of thanks be recorded to Mr 0 P Beck, of Manuherikia, for his giving gratuitously the use of his drag and team of horses -for the conveyance of the Alexandra Brass Band to Clyde on Sunday, the 29th inst, on which occasion they gave a varied selection of music in the Clyde Domain, and also at the hospital, when the really hand some contribution (by collection) of £6 7s 6d was made to the funds. Resolved—That Messrs Pitches and Wilson be the visiting committee for the ensuing month.
