ALEXANDRA V, CLYDE.

On Saturday last the above clubs met on the Clyde ground and played a match, the result of which turned out in. a very easy win for Alexandra. The wicket played very fast and bumpy, and on it the bowling of Burnside and S, Churchill prayed havoc with the Clyde willow-wielders, sending them to the right-about for the small score of 21—8 of which, were extras. . King won the toss from Pitches and elected to take the field. Mayo and Daniels faced the bowling of Burnside and S. Churchill, and when the former had put on 7, Burnside secured his wicket and started a procession that never stopped till the last wicket fell. Smith and L Churchill opened for Alexandra and soon passed the Clyde score; when at 32 Fitchett accepted a catch at point, from the latter. S. Churchill followed, only to be cleaned bowled by Moffitt after making 4, EL Williams came next, but- shortly after play had to be relinquished owing to the win becoming too heavy to be pleasant, leaving Alexandra the victors by 8 wickets and 41 runs.
