The protest committee met- and heard -the case, during which Mr Smith admitted that his horse was not registered till after the race had been run, and it was decided that the protest be dismissed. Mr W Thurlow, ownor of the second horse (Estella) lodged an appeal against the Vincent Club's decision, and claimed the stakes under role 143, sections V and VI, which provide that a horse is not qualified or permitted to start in any race unless the fee for registration for such horse has been paid,—Resolved that the appeal be uphold.
