Cricket.

The annual meeting of the Alexandra Cricket Club was held on Friday evening last, when there was a good attendance of members. The president (Mr W. S. Laidlaw) occupied the chair. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed, and the balancesheet, as read, was adopted. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr W S Laidlaw; vice-presidents, Messrs J Kelman, L B Grimstone, J D Thomson, J Geddes, J Milne, and F Gorman; hon. sec. and.treasurer, Mr L J Churchill; general committee, Messrs Watts, King, Bgginton, Burgess, Burnside, Cairns, Daniels, Riley, and Campbell; practice captains, Messrs Burnside and E King; match committee, Messrs Burgess, E King, and Cairns. It was decided that the election of a captain should stand over till a future meeting. The member's tee was fixed at ss. It was resolved that it be a recommendation to players that they appear in cricketing costume. The meeting expressed its regret at the loss of a prominent member of the club, in the person of Mr W King, who is leaving the district. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr L J Churchill for his services as hon. secretary and treasurer. The 'secretary was instructed to procure the material necessary to commence practice. A vote of thanks to the chairman cloeed the meeting.
